The Republic of Kazakhstan (Kazakhstan for short) is located in central Asia and is the largest landlocked country in the world. The following is a detailed overview of Kazakhstan:


Geographical location: bordered by Russia to the north, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, and Kyrgyzstan to the south, the Caspian Sea to the west, and China to the east. The area is 2.7249 million square kilometers.


Population: As of July 2024, the population of Kazakhstan is 20.13 million. There are 17 states and 3 municipalities directly under the central government in China (also known as 14 states and 3 municipalities directly under the central government). The main ethnic group is the Kazakh, accounting for 65.5% of its total population.


Official language: Kazakh is the national language, and the official languages are Kazakh and Russian.


Economic situation: Kazakhstan's economy is mainly based on oil, mining, coal, and agriculture and animal husbandry. In 2021, Kazakhstan's gross domestic product reached 176.6 billion US dollars, a year-on-year increase of 4%. From January to April 2022, its gross domestic product increased by 4.4% year-on-year. In addition, Kazakhstan is rich in oil and mineral resources, with proven oil reserves of 4.8 billion tons and over 90 types of mineral deposits.


Culture: Kazakhstan has a rich cultural tradition, mainly influenced by the Kazakh people. The main foods of Kazakhs are beef, mutton, milk, noodles, vegetables, etc. The most commonly consumed beverages are milk tea and mare's milk. Traditional foods include lamb, goat milk, and their products, with the most popular dish being hand pulled lamb.


Religion: The majority of residents in Kazakhstan practice Islam (Sunni). In addition, there are also Eastern Orthodox, Catholic, and Buddhist religions present.

Economic growth in Kazakhstan

The construction industry grew by 13.3%, the information and communication services industry grew by 7.1%, and the logistics and transportation industry and industry grew by 6.9% and 4.3% respectively. It is expected that the economic growth rate will not be less than 5.3% in 2024, and the total economic output will increase to 450 billion US dollars by 2029.

The Ministry of Agriculture of Kazakhstan plans to implement 11 agricultural investment projects, including 2 grain deep processing projects, which are expected to increase the added value of agricultural products. This year, the planting area of oil crops will increase by 385000 hectares. There are a total of 170 projects implemented in the manufacturing sector, with a total investment of 928 billion tenge. It is expected that 180 manufacturing projects will be put into operation this year, creating approximately 17600 fixed employment positions.


Development status of small and medium-sized enterprises

The government of Kazakhstan regards supporting the development of small and medium-sized enterprises as an important measure to promote economic growth and expand employment. At present, the output value of small and medium-sized enterprises accounts for about 36.4% of GDP, and the number of employed people has increased to 4.3 million. As of the end of last year, over 12000 commercial projects had received loan subsidies, totaling approximately 1 trillion tenge. This year, the government plans to allocate special funds from the national budget to support 40000 existing projects and 20000 new projects.
